The Louvre

Here are a couple of shots of the Eiffel Tower at night. The first one was an accident but it turned out kind of fun.

Our second full day in Paris we visit the Louvre museum. It was really fun. After being to so many museums in Italy it was fun to go to another in Paris. I think the most exciting part of it was that we were able to appreciate more of the art because we had seen in before in art history. We also were able to recognize many of the artists. I think everything is more fun when you know something about it.

While in the Louvre we decided it would be fun to reenact some of the works of art. We headed around and found some of the most fun pieces and tried to strike the pose.

The next day we went to the Eiffel Tower and went up to the top. It was densely covered in fog down to the first level, but we still climbed up.

Following the Eiffel Tower climb we headed to eat lunch at Subway :) It was nice to have some American food after being away from it for so long. After lunch we headed to Notre Dame. It was a beautiful cathedral and they were all set up for Christmas.

A little ways down the road was the Chapel of San Chapelle. In art history San Chapelle was my favorite. I loved that it was wall to wall windows that told thousands of stories. I loved the ceiling of painted stars on dark blue and the way the entire room turned blue when the sun was out. It was amazing to actually go inside and see it in real life.

The next day we were supposed to fly out back to Roma. All four of us accidentally slept through the alarm so we had an entire day of traveling to and from the airport and to another airport. We ended up catching another flight since we were unable to get onto the next flight at the first airport. We arrived back in Rome and headed to town to our hotel.
The girls all flew out the next day and I stayed and had a week traveling in Sicily with my mom.
It was a great way to end the trip.
